No Fooling Around

April 2nd, 2010

Yesterday was April Fools Day and I was worried that the day was going to bring some wacky and unusual pranks around my work place. I mean people have been talking it up for the past week or so, so I figured that at least one person was up to something for the day. In a way I was disappointed and in another I am grateful, ya know what I mean?

Clean Up the Grill

March 7th, 2010

With Spring almost here, I decided to bring the grill out of the garage and clean it up. As soon as it is warm enough to be outside without a jacket, I will be using the grill to cook dinner. I love food cooked on the grill – it adds a special flavor to the meats that you just can’t duplicate on the stove or in the oven. I also like to use marinades on the meats if i am going to be grilling. So I will have a much larger variety of flavors for all the different meats very soon.

Doppleganger

shorthair

Found this photo of a lady while I was surfing around a bunch of different sites this morning looking for a new hairstyle. The strange thing about it is that she looks just like my sister, Amy. My sister has not yet “gone grey,” but if she did, I know that she and the person in this photo could pass as twins!

Earthquake

February 27th, 2010

This morning I saw on the TV news that there was a devastating earthquake in Chile early this morning. Sadly, the earthquake happened about 3:30 in the morning, so obviously most people were sound asleep by then. This is too soon to know how many injuries and fatalities are the result. I hope that the numbers are low and that we can send humanitarian help right away.

Found a penny, picked it up

October 4th, 2009

This morning I was walking in a parking lot to my car and I saw a penny on the pavement near my car. It was a shiny penny, with the “tails” side up. As I bent down to pick it up (A penny saved is a penny earned!) I was remembering that a long time ago a friend told me that if you pick up a penny that is “tails up” it brings you bad luck, but if it is “heads up” then it means good luck. I wonder where that superstition originated? As for me, I think that any change found and picked up from the ground is good luck!
