Too Casual is Just Sloppy

What is it with American’s these days? We, as a nation, have become so lazy and casual about almost everything. I go out to the store and I see younger people running around in these heavy pajama bottoms (or at least that is what they look like). Many times, they are also wearing bedroom slippers!!

And then there are the jeans worn below the buttocks, I think that one irritates me the most. I don’t want to see some guy’s boxers (and sometimes their upper buttocks) when I am walking down the street. This offends me.

They say it is supposed to be cool and was started in the prisons because they are not allowed to have a belt to hold up their pants, but for heaven’s sake, buy pants that fit and you would not need a belt!!! I believe that the American people as a whole have become too complacent when it comes to the way we dress when we go out in public.

Toddlers and Tiaras

Have you ever watched the TV show called Toddlers and Tiaras? I find it deeply disturbing. These mothers are disturbed people trying to live their dream through their daughters. They are so hard on the children, making sure they don’t gain too much weight, making them adhere to a strict routine.

I think they should let the little girls be little girls. They are making them grow up way too fast. And some of the coaches!!! I think that child beauty pageants should be against the law!!!

2012 – the movie

I watched this movie, 2012, on TV for the second time the other night. It was a really good movie and gives you something to think about. What if Nostradamus and the Mayans were right?

What would you do if this was your last year on earth? Make amends with estranged friends? Go to church? Read the Bible?

I think we should live every day as if it were our last on earth. I am kind to people and try to be a good person on a daily basis. I do the right thing, I call my mother every day and tell her that I love her. Think about it.

And the ball drops

Well, did you watch the ball drop in Times Square last night and the big celebration in New
York City?

I was awake until 11:45, turned the TV channel to watch it all go down; I had been watching the Big Bang Theory marathon all evening, and then I fell asleep!!

I awoke again about 12:30, said “eh, Happy New Year” and went back to sleep. Very exciting evening!!!

So, it is the eve of the year 2012. What will this year hold for the world? Will we come to an end as Nostradamus and the Mayans predicted? Or will the earth continue to spin in space, third rock from our sun?

I don’t know if I really believe in the 2012 theory. If we are coming to an end this year, we had all better get our affairs in order and make things right with whatever God we answer to.

But can anyone really predict when our world will end? The bible says that no man shall know the day and the time, only God himself knows. Even the son of God does not know.

Something to ponder in the year to come.

Holiday bonus

I got a great surprise this afternoon. As I was leaving the office for the holiday weekend, my boss handed me an envelope. I did not open it until I got to my car; expecting $50 or maybe even $100. As I opened the envelope, I almost fell over with surprise!!

He had given me a $500 bonus for Christmas!! I was not even expecting a bonus, since I have only worked for him for a year. But man, this was a great Christmas gift. I have been needing a new television set in my living room for about 1 1/2 years now, mine went out, and I could not afford to fix it or buy a new one. So, this is buying me a new television set!!! They have some great sales going on right now. Thank you Mr. Elliott for the wonderful gift.

Christmas

Well, another Christmas is here. I am sorry to say, it is going to be a lean one again this year. The things that people want are getting so expensive!! Ipod, Ipads, Kindles, anything electronic are hot items.

I am just thankful that I and my family and friends are all safe here at home. I know several people who have relatives who are serving overseas, fighting the war, and think of them and how they will miss those away from home over the holiday.

My Christmas wish is for the wars to end and for everyone to come home. I know that world peace is never going to be a possibility. I don’t understand why people can’t just live and let live. It is a question that will never be answered.

So, we celebrate the birth of Christ once more. I hope everyone has a joyous and safe Christmas.

Disney World

I have always wanted to go to Disney World. I have been to Disney Land, but they say that it cannot compare to the park in Florida. I am really more interested in seeing Universal Orlando. I love roller coasters and have not been on one in years. I would probably throw up…I hope not though. I know several people who have been to Disney and they have all loved it.

But, I look at the price you pay to go, the park tickets, the hotel, the airline tickets, and know that I will never make it there. I can only dream…

Hey, maybe I can win a trip, like my trip to Oregon to search for Sasquatch!!!

Oh no, my beautiful car…part 3

I got the Mustang back today. The work is beautiful. You would not even know that it had been hit. The insurance company paid for all of the work, without a quibble. They even did an alignment to the front end.

I have my baby back, baby back, baby back….

I am sending the other driver a thank you card, just because they did the right thing and reported the accident. So many people these days would have just driven away. It gives me added faith in mankind. What a nice gift during the holiday season.

Search for Sasquatch

I won a trip to Oregon for the taping of a TV show, in Search of Sasquatch!!! I am so excited!! I grew up in an area where this show has searched before and I never saw one. But, they are very good at hiding themselves from the humans, so I may have come upon one during one of my long walks through the forest and not even known it. Scary stuff!!! The only thing that I ever remember running into was a black panther one day while riding my bicycle when I was 16.

I have wondered for many years if these things really exist. Apparently, I am not the only believer. I can’t wait to get out there in the woods and start searching. Watch for my episode!!!
