So, they are having more tornado outbreaks in the Midwest and southern plains. I am so glad I don’t live there. I have friends and family that live there and they have not yet been affected by these terrible storms.

I have a close friend whose family has been affected by the recent tornadoes in Iowa. The town his son lives in was 75% wiped out this weekend by a killer storm. People who he knew that had lived in their homes for 30 years or more lost everything.

Nature is a strange thing. It can be so beautiful, peaceful and wonderful, then it turns around and becomes mean, violent and relentless. I wish only the best to those who lost their homes. But remember, things can be replaced, lives cannot. No lives were lost where this friend’s relatives live, just belongings. I know that you can’t ever get back the family pictures and memorabilia and that part hurts the most I guess.

Think about the sacrifice that was made for the benefit of all mankind. It is truly an awesome thought that someone would give their life up for the good of all men.

Most people today have lost the real meaning of Easter. It got lost somewhere along the way with the Easter Bunny and colored eggs. I hope that the world starts to remember the true meaning before it is too late.

I get up at 5:00 a.m., get ready for work, spend all day running around, answering the phone, doing work at the computer and then I come home and have to do laundry, dishes, fix dinner or clean something. I hate work!!! I need a vacation and soon.

It wouldn’t be so bad I guess if my days weren’t so hectic at the office. Some days I just want to crawl into bed when I get home. Maybe I need to start taking vitamins; coffee just isn’t working anymore.

Now there is a lady I can respect. I don’t know how she stays so young looking and vibrant. I love her movies, she is very talented and has the Oscar’s to prove it. But her personal life is so different from what we see in the public eye.

She grew up like most of us, a normal kid. She left home at 19 to act in NYC and she struggled (like most of us did when we first left home). I was surprised that she suffered from bulimia. She led a happy childhood, but found out in later years that her parents were not the happy couple she had believed they were, when she read her mother’s diaries after her death in 2008. Her mother suffered from Alzheimer’s (such a cruel disease).

I really respect this woman and what she stands for.

I think that the FDA had better get busy and start regulating our food products a little more stringently. After all, our tax dollars write their paychecks.

Our enemies don’t have to worry about getting rid of us, our government will take care of it for them by not monitoring what is in our food.

We had a police shooting in town today. Â This is something that is very rare in this relatively small town. Â I have lived here for 9 years and have never heard of this happening before. Â I even volunteer for the county Sheriff’s office and this has not ever happened. Â It is a bit unnerving.

I have heard so many different versions of the story, that I don’t know what to believe.  I heard that it was the result of an altercation that began in the neighborhood that I live in and moved to the downtown area.  I also heard that there were two people in the vehicle when she was shot and that they were both  shot and killed.  I also heard that the female was dead and that a male in the vehicle with her was in the hospital.  According to the news reports, the driver was the only one in the vehicle.  It is strange how stories get turned around and twisted into something that is not even anywhere near the truth!!

The news reports say that it was a female, 54 years old, that was parked across from a school, watching the children. Â Someone got nervous and called the police. Â When she was asked to leave, there was an altercation of some kind with the police officer, she rolled up her window, drove away and was shot by the officer. Â We will know more as time goes on I suppose.

I go out to the store and I see younger people running around in these heavy pajama bottoms (or at least that is what they look like).  Many times, they are also wearing bedroom slippers!!

And then there are the jeans worn below the buttocks, I think that one irritates me the most. Â I don’t want to see some guy’s boxers (and sometimes their upper buttocks) when I am walking down the street. Â This offends me.

They say it is supposed to be cool and was started in the prisons because they are not allowed to have a belt to hold up their pants, but for heaven’s sake, buy pants that fit and you would not need a belt!!! Â I believe that the American people as a whole have become too complacent when it comes to the way we dress when we go out in public.

I don’t know if I really believe in the 2012 theory. Â If we are coming to an end this year, we had all better get our affairs in order and make things right with whatever God we answer to.

But can anyone really predict when our world will end? Â The bible says that no man shall know the day and the time, only God himself knows. Â Even the son of God does not know.

Something to ponder in the year to come.

My brother Dave called today and said that there had been a murder-suicide about 20 miles from where I grew up. Â It seems strange that something like that could happen in a place where everyone knows everyone else. Â You never think about those things happening in small-town America. Â Small towns are thought to be friendly places, where you know everyone and neighbors greet each other when they meet on the street.

This, like so many of these cases, was the result of a domestic dispute mixed with alcohol. Â It is so sad that a nine-year old little girl will have to live with the memory of her father shooting her mother right in front of her. Â She will surely have nightmares for the rest of her life. Â I hope that she finds someone, a family member hopefully, that will take her in and nurture her so that she grows up to be a fine young woman.

I think that the shooter in this case was very selfish. Â He should have thought of what would happen to his daughter, with no mother or father for the remainder of her life. Â Very sad indeed.
