When Noreen and I agreed to help our friends at the Milky Wave Tie Dye store improve their online presence, we both knew that it was going to be a huge challenge to bring them up to speed. Sure, they already had a website, but it was not set up with any kind of shopping cart software. If their customers want to purchase a tie dye shirt from them, they have to call them on the phone or send them an email. Part of the problem is that they have a very limited budget, and do not feel that they can afford to use any kind of shopping cart software that charges them a monthly rate, such as the 1ShoppingCart software. As it is, my sister and I have been working with them on the barter system – we do work for them on their website, and on their SEO and SEM strategies in exchange for free tie dye!
Right now the entire online store is at a stand-still because we need the people at Milky Wave to provide us with photos and descriptions of the merchandise that they want to offer for sale through the online catalog. I’m starting to think that it might be a good idea if I helped them with the description part. The size of the project seems to be overwhelming, and I would hate for their website to fall by the way-side. I’m sure that they could make really great money once it is up and running properly!
