I got the Mustang back today. The work is beautiful. You would not even know that it had been hit. The insurance company paid for all of the work, without a quibble. They even did an alignment to the front end.
I have my baby back, baby back, baby back….
I am sending the other driver a thank you card, just because they did the right thing and reported the accident. So many people these days would have just driven away. It gives me added faith in mankind. What a nice gift during the holiday season.

I won a trip to Oregon for the taping of a TV show, in Search of Sasquatch!!! I am so excited!! I grew up in an area where this show has searched before and I never saw one. But, they are very good at hiding themselves from the humans, so I may have come upon one during one of my long walks through the forest and not even known it. Scary stuff!!! The only thing that I ever remember running into was a black panther one day while riding my bicycle when I was 16.
I have wondered for many years if these things really exist. Apparently, I am not the only believer. I can’t wait to get out there in the woods and start searching. Watch for my episode!!!

Well, I can’t believe the year has gone by so quickly. It is already turkey-time again!! I have nothing special planned this year. No family or friends. Everyone has their own plans. So, I think I will spend a quiet day, watching the parades and hopefully some good movies and crocheting. I am working on a blanket for my cousin. I don’t think I’ll even cook anything special unless I get hungry and change my mind at the last minute.
Thanksgiving is such a great holiday. All the food you can eat, and you get to see family you have not seen since last year (and you get to send them home at the end of the day too)!!

Well, I contacted the local body shop about the car. I had driven it 2 miles to my home and it did not drive right. So, I told them that I would have to have it towed. I was afraid that the insurance company would not pay for a tow, but I insisted, since I did not want to further the damage to the car.
So, it was towed to the body shop. I got a call from them this afternoon, and the estimate they gave me, for a small little bump from another vehicle, was over $2,000.00!!! They are sending the estimate to the insurance company and I can only hope that they will pay for the entire repair. I was surprised at the amount of parts that needed replacing. I needed a new passenger front fender, a new front bumper, new striping, and a new headlight.
I just have to wait to see what the insurance company has to say. I hope I don’t have to fight for the full repairs. I have never gone through this before, so it is all new to me.

I came out of work to the parking lot, where many of us who work downtown pay to park our cars; a safe place to park, one might think.
As I walked toward my 2005 Mustang, I notice a piece of paper under one windshield wiper. My first thought was “that had better not be a ticket, my parking is paid up”.
So, I get to the car and see that it is indeed a ticket, but not the kind of ticket I had suspected. It was information written by a police officer giving the information for the driver of the vehicle that had hit my car!!!! Now this car was 5 years old, yes, but it was in excellent condition, not a scratch on it. So, needless to say, I was a bit upset. Not angry, mind you, but just upset.
I called the phone number of the driver of the pickup that was the culprit and they said that they had already contacted their insurance company to file a claim. I was very pleasantly surprised. Most people would have just driven away thinking that they would get away with it. But, low and behold, there are some honest people still left in the world.
