I would LOVE to take a Zumba class. It looks like so much fun! There are a few things stopping me from taking them, however – time, money, and health. I don’t feel like I have enough of any of those to be able to take a Zumba class. And to be honest, I didn’t know of any local places that hold Zumba classes – until recently. I just found three local places that hold Zumba classes. Unfortunately, all of the class dates and times are during the days and hours that I work! Maybe it just isn’t meant to be. <sigh>

There were some Earth Day presentations going on today at the local library at noon, so I went there to see them during my lunch break. I couldn’t find anyplace to park, so I eventually gave up and went back to work, disappointed. I feel strongly that we need to pay closer attention to what we are doing to the Earth and do a lot more to protect it from the harm that industry is doing to it, and to do whatever we can to repair the damage that has already been done.

Up until recently I had a long life of never been fired. Not even once. I was happily retired and then I suddenly found myself needing to get a job to make ends meet. I thought I was doing a great job, but it appears that my co-workers were feeling threatened by my fast progress in learning my job and they lobbied my boss to fire me. So I was fired!
How do you explain that on a job application? When you apply for a job and you have to do that stupid telephone survey where you don’t speak to a live person and it asks you if you’ve ever been fired, and you reply “yes” you are then automatically disqualified from getting the job! How do you deal with that? You never even get to speak to a live person and explain. And even if you DID explain, do you think that the interviewer would believe you?
Would you just act as if you had never worked there, and don’t even include that job in your employment history? What would YOU do?

Dean has the most adorable little Boston Terrier that I’ve ever seen. So when he told me that he and Amy were going to breed her and asked me if I’d like to adopt a puppy from the litter I wasn’t quite sure what to say. Obviously I’d love to have one, but I have my hands full already! I guess the best thing for me to do is to ask more questions, like “what do you mean by adopt – are you offering one for free, or exactly how much money did you want?”
I really don’t know if they’re just trying to sell an unborn litter, or if they want to give me one for free. And in these economic times, I don’t know if I could afford to buy one!
