A couple of months ago my best friend and I decided it was a good idea to give each other a set of keys to each other’s houses and cars. Well, it’s a good thing we did! She called me this morning and said she was sick as a dog and would I please come get her and bring her to my place for a few days until she got better. She said she was too sick to even get out of bed to come to the door when I got there. So I was really glad that I had a set of keys to her place so I could let myself in! I had to pack her clothes (not too many because we are the same size and I figured she could just wear my stuff) and medicines (that was the most important stuff) and then bring her back to my place. I tucked her into the bed in the spare bedroom and am “playing nursemaid.” I think she has the flu, poor thing. I’m glad I got my flu shot!

I can’t say that my sisters and I had a really happy childhood, our parents divorced when we were quite young, they remarried quickly and had more children, and we never really felt like we belonged anywhere. I am so glad that my sisters and I had each other to lean on!
Anyway, back to memories! I can remember our mother, before the divorce, chasing us around the house with a can of whipped cream in her hand. When she caught one of us, she would “rassle” us to the floor and tickled us until we opened our mouths to laugh. When we DID open our mouth, she squirted it full of whipped cream!
That was a happy memory. I’ll be trying to come with more childhood happy memories to post. It’s good to try to remember the happy times, and try not to dwell on the unhappy times!

Well, before your dirty minds go crazy, Wednesday being “hump day” means it is half-way through the work week, at noon you have gone “over the hump” and heading towards the weekend. Kind of like being “over the hill” but in a good way! Where does the time go?
There just never seems to be enough time in any day, or any week. It just doesn’t seem fair; when we were kids it seems like we had all the time in the world, and the days and weeks just didn’t slip by. The time between one holiday and the next, or birthday to the next was just “forever” and now the time speeds by so fast it feels like I’m on a speeding roller coaster!
It seems like every time I turn around, the week is over, or the weekend is over, and I just can’t believe how fast it went! I guess that is one of the more unpleasant aspects of getting older, time goes by too quickly.

The weather the past few weeks has been going crazy. One day it is below normal temperatures, the next it is above normal temperatures. And I don’t mean by just a few degrees, I’m talking at least ten degrees above or below. It makes it hard to dress appropriately to make sure that you don’t accidentally lower your resistance to all of the cold viruses that are lurking out there!
